Artistes of the Week:

Hi there! Welcome to another exciting week of fresh new music and new stars to love! Here are a few we found this week:

Aguero banks – Ogwu Ego

Aguero Banks is a rapper and song writer from Enugu, known for his intriguing self expression through rap, often narrating his life experiences in the streets before he made it out. On a mission to become a new wave in rap, he’s dropped his latest unique Afro-Hip-hop release “Ogwu Ego”. This track delivers hard-hitting rap, beautifully performed in Igbo. His commanding voice drives the smooth flowing rhythm with effortless confidence.

Saintted- I’ll be there.

Saintted is a talented, soulful Afrobeats artiste/vocalist newly stewed in the game. With a voice that carries deep emotions in a soft landing, and a natural knack for creating immersive melodies, he embodies his own description that he’s “Free like a hummingbird”. He recently dropped a new track called “I’ll be there”, a gentle, smooth-listening record that leans into both vulnerability and groove. His supple, pure vocals glide effortlessly over a killer rhythm, blending Afrobeats with a smooth Afro-R&B twang. “I’ll be there” gets you straight into your feelings; it’s the kind of song that sits with you, wraps around you, and lingers long after it ends. Make sure to check out Saintted and his latest art, “I’ll be There”

Lodu- follow

Lodu, the soulful, jazzy Afro music princess – whose music style is traditional African music and nostalgic magic into a modern world – is the perfect definition of an old soul. Like the Lijadu sisters or the queen that honeyed Lagbaja’s music, Lodu’s breathy yet strong vocals take you to a moment in time, severely taking your breath away. Her new track, "Follow", is sonically rich as always. An exciting rhythm that makes you “dance heartily when no one’s watching”, the central hope of the artist with her music. This song is as magnetic as Lodu, a true masterpiece and powerful show of heritage into something new. It’s captivating, doused with beautiful background vocals that elevate the whole experience, bursting into your ears like a sonic wave – a journey like no other. So, If you’re a lover of rich and true African music that’s done right, “Follow” deserves a spot in your playlist by all means. You’ll find yourself stuck and failing to move on.

Berry wrld- maza

Afrobeats artist Berry Wrld drops a promising new hit track called “Maza”, a soulful fusion of Afrobeats and R&B. The vocals are a total trip, flowing straight into your head and the beat? It holds its own swag, with a killer bass line that keeps you vibing with ease.
