Artistes of the Week:
Hello there! Welcome to another week in June and another week of great sound and great artists. Today we shine the spotlight on:
SOÈY - Thou$And Billion

SOÈY takes Fuji to a whole new level as he dropped this exciting afrofusion bounce last Thursday. “Thou$And Billion” is a fantastic cross between drill music, Afrobeats, and house, coupled with a twinkle of Fuji and a talking drum pattern to spell out that Nigerian in the room, joined by Yoruba to seal the deal. Thou$And Billion is more than just another Afrobeats song; it’s an intriguing, super-creative mix of sounds and cultural influences that creates a stark vibe anthem. It’s a groove that’s so well executed and made for speakers worldwide. Check out SOÉY and his latest promising hit jam; Thou$And Billion
Lodù - Moróuntódùn

Lodù, the buzzing, sonically ethereal Yoruba princess, is back with another song that further spreads her mission to “make you dance heartily while no one’s watching”. In true African fashion, “Moróuntódùn”, is a total drum fest. Lodù takes her sweet, ethereal vocals on a very hard Afrobeats percussion, giving us a tale of sweet love and dancing in the best way. The African drums are intricately mixed with Amapiano log drums that are faint, quaint, and perfectly distributed. “Moróuntódùn” will have you dancing hard and flowing with the rhythm so easily. From the vocals to the rhythm, Lodù has everything speaking for her. It’s a clean production of good music and good vibes, everything hitting and flowing just right. You don’t want to miss this one!
Bibianne- I like it

Bibianne, another rising femme fatale in the Afrobeats world, dropped her new single “I like it” last Friday, and it’s already doing so well, with 4k streams on Spotify alone! Bibianne’s music is a soulful fusion of Afrobeats, R&B, and pop, anchored in emotional storytelling that’s elevated by her soft-spoken yet powerful vocals. Her sound is experimental but deeply intimate. Known for singing with a passion, her voice comes out stark on this track; “I like it”, flowing well with its pace and rhythm, yet holding the center. With a confident presence and a playful spirit, Bibianne keeps her world close, letting the music speak loudest.. So today, make sure to check out Bibianne and her new single “I like it”.
Mailer - The People

Mailer, is a fresh new artist in the Afrobeats game, starting his career on the foundations of passionate activism. Artists come into music with different missions and different views of their art and Mailer comes in with a message, hitting fans with the harsh reality of his nation. With his debut single “The people”, Mailer takes the role of the voice of his people, where he shares in and voices out the pain of his people. The song begins and ends with a haunting chant, a scream for Nigerians. It’s followed by a lament and a rundown of its harsh reality; corruption, incessant killings, and more. This song is a somber act of turning pain into art, into something beautiful that disturbs the comforted and comforts the disturbed. Check out “The people” by Mailer, real and honest work.
MAR1NE - Flee

MAR1NE, is a growing Afro fusion rapper/singer in the Nigerian music industry. Following his debut single “Pay Me” earlier this year in February, he has recently dropped a new track called “Flee”, an intriguing song with an almost psychedelic feeling. It’s creative, solemn, and a thought-provoking one. Check out “Flee” by MAR1NE
