GBOHUNMI-Gifted
The intriguing, Afro-fusion music continues with GBOHUNMI’s latest artwork, “Gifted”. This song starts with a kick-ass bounce and continues with a smoky, intoxicating feeling, an edge that swells all through the music, making you feel wrapped up in its haze. Jaguar Boys: Ori Ire
Jaguar Boys, a budding new musical duo of twin brothers, create a quadrupling effect with their new single, “Ori Ire”, which features another musical twin duo, s2vibez. The song is a clean, street-style, sombre track that begins with a prayer for twins, setting the pace for the music. Donned primarily in Yoruba, “Ori Ire”, speaks about the need to succeed. It comes in as a reminder and an assurance to the heart that “Emi a so rire” (I will succeed). It’s a reminder that their purpose of leaving home, leaving their comfort zone, was for greatness. It’s a song that’s relatable to anyone: the search for independence, to become something, and the need for small kids to grow up to chase their dreams. Hammerboi: Omoye
Hammerboi (born Osasike Bobby Uwuigbe) is an ascending Nigerian Afrobeats artist and producer from Benin City. Recently, he dropped his new album, “Son of a Carpenter,” on which his new single, “Omoye,” was born. “Omoye” is a rich, modern highlife music piece done entirely in his beautiful Bini language. Proudly identifying as the "son of a carpenter", he infuses his indigenous Bini language with modern Afrobeats and R&B, creating a signature sound he refers to as "Jerry Afro". It’s the kind of song that reminds you of beautiful traditional weddings, love, and a good time. Its catchy rhythm comes in perfect harmony with Hammerboi’s sweet vocals, his tone flowing through the track like smooth butter. McKay: HOPE YOU HAPPY
McKay, a unique Afrobeats artist, recently dropped his new single, “HOPE YOU HAPPY”, a soulful Afro R&B music with a soft-thug style lying underneath, giving it a unique breath of its own. This song flows smoothly and hits gritty, the beat matching every mood and energy. It’s a song of accountability in love. Knowing you messed up, yet reaching the point of acceptance.
