        Hello everyone! Welcome to the final week of June and our last Artistes of the Week this month. Let’s have a finale to remember!

Sesq blvck - Omo 

        Sesq Blvck, a bustling rookie artist in the Afro music scene, drops a trailblazing debut single called “Omo”. The music comes in with an edge. The rhythm, something new and daunting, is not quite easily placed, yet easily enjoyable. Like a battle of love and power in the Midwest, the guitar remains an exciting point of fire in the music. But it’s backed up by the killer beat, an exciting Afrobeats/ reggaeton-style rhythm that touches your head instantly. Lyrically, “Omo” praises his woman, lighting her up as ‘That girl’ in every room, the one everyone speaks about. Fine to a fault, body fire. Gilgal rhymes - Put me on

       Following his debut single, ‘Hold on’, back in 2024, Gilgal Rhymes re-emerges into the music scene with a sweet new single, “Put me on”. The soulful Afropop track is heavy on the vocals and lyrics. It’s a somber track about often being slied and going through life alone because nobody puts you on. A hardness of life that shapes you in a way that makes you grow independent. Gilgal rhymes, mixing the pain of these struggles into something sonically strong and full, his voice filling up the spaces in every part of the music. Efue- Tire you

         Efue is a rising star with a passion for storytelling through music. As an artist, she draws her sonic influence from a variety of genres, from soul to Afrobeats, AfroSoul, and House music. We see this manifest in her newest track, “Tire you”, a smooth Afro R&B groove that hits like stars and night lights. Tire you is smooth and jazzy to a fault. It’s quiet, yet vibrant and soulful. Aniike- gbewa 

        ANIIKE is a versatile Afrobeats and Pop artist from Lagos, Nigeria. Known for her intriguing fusion of elements of RnB, Pop, and Afrobeats. This creative crafts a unique sound that reflects her love for music and creativity. “Gbewa”, her new track, is a sound you don’t just listen to but also feel. The rhythm catches you from all sides, and it’s the kind where you never know what’s coming next. “What a feeling,” she sings, and what a feeling indeed. Caleb Awiti - Tempt me

         Afrohouse has never been better with Caleb Awiti and his new single “Tempt me”. This star is bringing Friday nights a little early with this one. “Tempt Me”  is the song that raises the roof in a fraction. The kind that doesn’t do too much to announce its presence, letting the rhythm speak for itself. Soulful and energetic, “Tempt me” would leave you tempted to have a fantastic time! Taves - Uche Jumbo

         Taves drops his alluring new track called “Uche Jumbo,” dabbling in a world of nostalgia with smooth expertise. Like a modern spin-off, Taves dons a creative and iconic sample of Wizkid’s 2011 single, “Don’t dull”, blending a piece of its notable rhythm and hook into a new party anthem. “Uche Jumbo” is an expert appraisal of old Nigerian influences fused into music.
