Artistes of the Week:

Hi there! Welcome to Artistes of the week, this week is a promise of great sound like never before!

Kunmie - Confession

Starting off with a soft symphony, our favorite lover boy, Kunmie released his latest track “Confession” last Friday. Produced by the classic Venomous, who understands the sound so clearly, Kunmie does “Confession” there’s an electric synergy breathing there. “Confessions” stands out, as Kunmie invites listeners to the crux of his feelings. The softness draws you near but the rawness of emotions keeps you in closer. As he sings “Ololufe mi”, in the softest tones you’ve ever heard, you instantly learn that love as it aches, can also be really quiet.

Confessions is about falling in love, so hard it hurts. It’s vulnerability personified. It’s the staying up at night, the stinging of the heart as you crave a deeper connection with someone you’ve admired for so long. It’s wanting them, waiting on them, a desperate need to cross the plane of friendship into something more. So if you’re looking for a way to tell someone you really like them, to break the ice boldly saying you want something more, try “Confessions”, it’s the best place to start

Aguero banks- The Return (Eze Onyiko)

Aguero Banks dropped his first album; The Return (Eze Onyiko), since 2024 and like its name suggests, this album is a perfect return, well done, well seasoned. It's diverse in genre and rich in culture, intentionality bleeding through every track. He ushers listeners in with a beautiful traditional highlife called ‘Akwa ego’ and the song takes you to a place, a moment where the palmwine flows, and the music flows deeper. It’s riddled with a killer bass guitar, sexy drums and heavenly vocals. He switches things up with the next track ‘Obara’ giving fans a killer Afro-drill connection. Rapping primarily in Igbo he mixes his language expertly with the drill beat, giving a sonic trip of a lifetime. With “The Return Eze Onyiko”, Aguero banks  shows fans and artistes at large, that multiplicity is possible with music but beyond that, he shows that you can try new things, explore creativity while remaining authentic and true to yourself, your sound, your style. This album is proudly Igbo, proudly African and proudly influenced by other cultures. From rap to hiphop, to Highlife, to Afrodill, he takes Afro fusion music to a new level, featuring stars like Wizard Chan, Odumodu black, Chike, and many more on the journey. So check out for “The Return (Eze Onyiko), because it’s one for the books!

Lyrxx - Mystery Rider

Lyrxx, a Yoruba lyrical genius, dropped a powerful Afro sensation with his track “Mystery Rider”. Hailing from Ibadan, Nigeria, this creative artist makes music that’s truly one of a kind. Lyrxx is that musician that’s never afraid to blur the lines between cultures and genres, a modern example of a musician who uses his music as his voice, to speak, share stories and give listeners something worth listening to. With a style he calls "Afro-Waka" and sounds infused with cross-traditional rhythms, he shows in the best way that music has no boundaries. From the cathartic beat, to his sonorous vocals, Lyrxx gives fans a show with “Mystery Rider” song-rapping primarily in his sweet native language. The song begins with a soft flowing rhythm, followed by a command of trumpets, then his lovely vocals take the center stage. There’s an infectious energy with this song you can’t take away. It’s an Afro soul/Afrobeats conversation that hits your soul! Check out Lyrxx “Mystery Rider”,  a listen you’ll never regret, bound to be stuck on repeat.

Dayday - My Brothers

Dayday, a young new artiste in the game, recently dropped his second ever single “My brothers”, an Afro-Hadurah kind of Afrobeats that’s soulful, somber yet a total vibe. On this track, he sings about the pain he feels seeing his guys, or brothers as he calls it, go through so much suffering in the hopes of making it, that pressure and quest for survival. Yet despite its somber tone, Dayday manages to make this track catchy, sweet and just so easy to love. Check out “My Brothers”, it’s hope that even in the hardship things will definitely turn around.

G4ZI & Kizz Daniel - Energy

G4ZI may be slightly new to the game but he’s definitely not a rookie to music. Released just last Wednesday, his debut track “Energy”, featuring Kizz Daniel, has amassed over 100k listens already, and is on the way to more! With a voice that’s wavy and sweet like honey -the kind you instantly fall in love with- G4ZI comes with a purpose; to leave us with the message that Everything is in God’s hands. This song meets its perfect match with Kizz Daniel, a perfect complement to the beautiful music, adding his own timeless touch. “Energy” is in the simplest words, iconic, press play and see exactly why!
