Hi there! It’s another round of ‘Artistes of the Week’ and this time we’ve compiled a list of tracks that will get you hyped and energised all through the week, down to the weekend. From feisty features to smooth singles, it’s all in the bag. Let’s go!

Dj Go Tire: Jeriq, Minz

Last Friday, Jeriq and Minz released a new single together called ‘DJ go tire’, a very befitting weekend starter. This track is soft, with chill vibes, all through with a gentle yet electric Amapiano rhythm pulsating behind. It’s the kind that doesn’t need to do too much to start a party or set the mood. Where even its quiet, calm energy commands presence. It’s also a subtle interplay of cultures in music.

Jeriq lays on the Igbo lyrics and vibes, thick and heavy, while Minz complements from his own side of his tribe. As Jeriq pushes the first part of the hook in Igbo, Minz responds in Yoruba in a call-and-response manner. It’s exciting, soft and easy, yet a total mood upper. Check out ‘Dj Go Tire’!

Speed: Teni, Gunna

Teni, the bubbly, award-winning, Nigerian performer, singer, and songwriter, teams up with American trap artist and rapper Gunna on a sexy new Afrobeats track called “Speed”. Here, hip-hop/trap enters the realm of Afrobeats in the sweetest way, melting in the ears and cooling the body to vibe along. The vibes are ultimately matched, the rhythm is bustling, the music is killing, it’s zippy, it’s Teni, it’s Gunna. Check out ‘Speed’

Diamonds: Boj, Mavo

Alte genius and trendsetter, Boj (on the microphone), features Mavo on his latest Afrofusion track ‘Diamonds’. With a magnetic pull, the feel of an astral soundscape, coupled with an Alte dance party rhythm, the music holds an air of mystique and intrigue, as he melds different genres and moods in one song. Boj begins the track with chill vibes that set the tone for what you’re about to experience, while Mavo takes over and kicks the party up a notch. Seyi Vibes is joined by Olamide on an insane Afrofusion ride tagged ‘Fuji Party’, and from its name alone, Fuji party is nothing like you’d expect. It’s a glistening mix of Fuji music, fast Mara beats and a dazzle of amapiano energy. This track is well designed to get you hyped and go crazy. It’s different, manic and with a simple command, ‘It’s a fuji party make we dance’. Purely for entertainment and enjoyment, it captures the feel of hearing music so good, its like being in a trance. It’s the right level of eccentricity and fast-paced movement, a dosage well concocted to lift your spirits from a 10 to a 100. Go crazy go nuts with this one, and as Olamide brings on that side of him we haven’t seen in a while, you’ll have no choice but to shake your body to ‘Fuji Party’

Popstar Party: Taves

After all that crazy dancing, let’s slow things down the right way with Taves’ new hit; ‘Popstar party’. Vocals are a total 10, and nothing less is expected with smooth loverboy Taves. Taves gives us smooth 80s pop, R&B and trap in a bag, as he serves up romance, slow whines and a sleek shiny pop-star party, in a cup. Its an electrifying performance, a style reminiscent of The Weekend and Tay Iwar in a room together, but the signature touch of Taves, smooth sliding, soft gliding. Think men in large pink suits and funky glasses, fur coats and streamers with crazy lights, balloons and red cups, but smooth soulful music, that’s the vibe of ‘Popstar Party’, don’t miss out!
