Artistes of the Week:

Howdy readers, welcome to another week in October! 'Artists of the week', is your weekly reminder that good music never stops coming to light, and since we’ve done the favour of bringing it to you, let’s dive in!

Nowlee : Shake it

Today, we begin with Nowlee and his hot new release, ‘Shake it’. Nowlee is a Nigerian music artist whose sound can best be defined as a soul-stirrin blend of emotion, melody, and rhythm. His musical journey began at the University of Benin, where a spontaneous freestyle on a rainy day sparked a creative transformation. Though his professional journey in entertainment kicked off from content creation and skit making, he soon found the magic in music and has pursued the art ever since. With his latest track ‘Shake it’, Nowlee reminds us that sweet and boogielicious romantic songs are so back! From the gentle touch of the amapiano log drums to the killer bassline and the sexy guitar work, you are definitely in for a treat! To crown it all, Nowlee himself has a voice that just draws you in, talent unrivalled. With the voice of a true singer and an entertainer, he makes the music both thrilling and sweet to listen to, his lovely vocals a perfect complement to the crazy Afrobeats and soft juju rhythm. If you’re searching for a sonic eargasm, check out ‘Shake It’.

Kunmie: My brother

Our favourite lover boy is back with another heart-pulling single, ‘My Brother’, but this time, love takes a new dimension. From romantic love and heartbreak, the storyteller expertly delves into love and heartbreak in friendship. For Kunmie, love is deeper than just emotions or sentiments; it’s a thread that has meaning and keeps connections woven together. From family to friendships like family, his love extends like branches to everyone around him, and he lays it all bare with ‘My friend’, sharing with us how the life of fame has been beautiful but comes with its own baggage of trust. That on the brink of success also lies the greatest test. ‘My brother’ is an ode to the connections and friendships that fade along the way, a question to the reality of heartbreaking change. Make sure to enjoy this one!

10ten, Minz: Kanye (With Minz)

10ten, or Osagie Onobun, is a talent powerhouse and a king at talent management. This quiet star is the head of A&R and artist development at Chocolate City Music, and is also a well-established music producer, with numerous  hits under his belt. Stepping more out of the shadows, he’s recently featured other music stars, from Blaqbonez & Tar1q, to Qing Madi and now on his latest work is Minz, one of the most iconic voices emerging from the Nigerian music scene.

Minz is an eclectic singer, songwriter and a defiant, Afrobeats artiste, whose style can best be described as “very wavy music with an underlying rhythm of Afrobeats”. This new release ‘Kanye’ is exactly that, chill, wavy Afrobeats with a kick-ass energy. It borders on a pendulum of chill, good vibes and hype energy. It is all about celebrations and enjoyment, celebrating because there’s simply ‘many things to be grateful’ for. Check out ‘Kanye’ !

TI Blaze, Llona: Lonely Road

T. I. Blaze and Llona come clutch, ready with another feature that’ll blow your mind. Afro-beat crosses paths with hip-hop and trap on their new single, 'Lonely Road',Lonely Road’, as T.I Blaze brings in the voice of the streets with his modern Fuji vocal style, curating a tingling trip through his fusion of African authenticity and foreign influence in the best way. Llona also brings his own style of authenticity, mixing his Afrobeats background to the realm of Hip-hop, and these two bring their expertise to the room, singing about the hustle to stay afloat, staying booked and busy, and how it becomes a lonely road to stay stuck on the grind. So check out ‘Lonely Road’

Anendlessocean: Blind

Last but not least on our list is the amazing love practitioner, the gospel wordsmith with a voice of angels on command, ‘ Anendlessocean’ (also known as AEO) and his latest musical artwork, ‘Blind’. While we were still trying to digest Za’, in all its lovely dimensions, Anendlessocean slipped us another round of depth packaged in an irresistible groove with his new single ‘Blind’, and as always, it is playlist worthy! This song is Afrogospel that ministers to and enriches the soul, body, and mind. ‘Blind’ will have you dashing out moves for Christ, no matter the room, so make sure to check it out! A total faith booster!
