Artistes of the Week:
Hi there! Welcome to another week in October. There've been a couple of great releases throughout the past week/weekend, and we've made sure to capture a few favourites for you. Ready? Steady? Let's go!
oSHAMO, Shiloh yodelle - Don’t say bye

oSHAMO and Shiloh Yodelle return to the music scene together, for another round of killer duets. Naturally, we’ve fallen in love with a particular favourite, and it’s called “Don’t say bye”. Following their last sweet yet heartbreaking connection together, ‘Stars Misaligned II’ the story continues like a thread with “Don’t say bye”, which carries an equally smooth, sombre energy. This song asks and shows what happens when stars have been misaligned— the loss love thateat follows and the rough next step of saying goodbye to a love that feels too hard to work. Yet the song shows the painfulness and unwillingness to give up, to let go of love the push and pull of knowing it may have to end but choosing, pleading to fight and holding on till the end. It is a burning desire to pick “choice” over “fate”, to fight to belong together, and a refusal to watch one’s love end. Check out “Don’t say bye”, today!
Venom4us- Solution

“Built by pressure. Driven by purpose. Powered by music”, is the motto and philosophy of the growing Afrobeats sensation; Venom4us. Recently, he dropped his new single, “Solution”, a song of empowerment, dedication and hustle. On this track, Venom4us continues to find the positive in everything, restrategizing through everything. “Solution” is a continuation of his journey of pressure, purpose and music, so much so that that pressure and grit is found in its rhythm, and is paired perfectly with his gentle vocals, a glowing truth that you can continue to stay soft through life’s hardness. That you can in his words; ‘find no shame in struggle and soar through every doubt’. Check out “Solution”, a motivating track of determination and relentless hustle.
Solana- O rí mi

Solana, the yorupop Barbie, pivots to yet another interesting direction of pop music with her latest single “O rí Mi”. “O rí mi”, is a slight turn from her usual, fast-paced Pop/Afrohouse, energetic music, to a more softer, glowing music. It is a gentle, slow energy style that’s a lovely cross between Afrobeats music and indie pop. Maintaining her unique genre-flexing creativity with her love for her Yoruba roots, “O rí mi” is a song that settles in and loops you in its dreamy haze. The music captures a sweet piece of girlhood, with the hazy feeling of falling and being in love. Whatever you do, make sure to check out “O rí mi”, and let it heal parts of your body, soul and mind, as it reminds you of a type of “Ife” (love) that lights up your world.
