Hi there! Welcome to a new week in September and another round of Artistes of the week. Today we’re back with hot new releases that are blazing the music scene, so far so good.
Fola: Catharsis
While we were still trying to savour the sweet taste of you, Fola, the ceaseless, hardworking class act, came right behind us and said E ni sun! Yes, this thrilling artiste is back again but not just with another banger, but with a full package of an album, and I don’t know about you, but he can totally bring it all on! ‘Catharsis’ is filled with soft classics. It starts off solemn and sweet with the introductory single ‘gokada’. Here, his soft and ghostly vocals are accompanied by swelling chorus vocals, a spicy electric guitar and a violin coda to say goodbye. The next songs ‘Eko’ follows a similar pace but this time, with a simple yet sweet Afrobeats rhythm, drums. This album is pen on paper, mind through music. From its visuals to the tone, Fola takes listeners on a journey through the inner corners of his mind and his emotions. The music is thoroughly perused with soft pressures and jeje vibes all through, intense and chill in just the right ways. Tiphe: Purpose & Poetry
Another rising star with a back-to-back, heat tempo is the young new sensation ‘Tiphe’, a trenches goldmine, brimming with undeniable talent and passion for the art. Days after his hot release; ‘Broken’ ft pop star Magixx, Tiphe wasted no time and dropped his first ever EP, ‘Purpose and Poetry’ on Friday, the 5th of September. Wonda: Mercy
Born in Delta, Nigeria, Blessed Fejiro, also known by his stage name ‘WONDA’ is an Afro fusion singer, songwriter, composer, and producer. He has just released a new afro pop single called ‘Mercy’. This track is a lovely, catchy tune, with a powerful message and a prayer, a plea for God’s mercy, a shower of God’s infinite blessings. Aaring Sings is a new female artiste in the Nigerian music scene, and is up and ready to etch her name in the sands of music industry. She has dropped her debut release ‘Silently’. Aarin dons a unique, high-pitched that sets her apart with ease. She matches this tone with a unique music style, effected with a mix of English, pidgin and her traditional language, alongside a simple catchy Afrobeats rhythm. Ugoccie, is a charismatic female artiste with a silky voice like honey, oozing wealthy, and exquisite.
