Coming soon: Obedo PF’S new gift ‘Promiseland’
Obedo PF, the ghetto youth culture/music/style ambassador, is back with another moving single in the works called ‘Promiseland’.
‘Promiseland’ is about remaining relentless in the face of adversity, refusing to lower one’s head, but instead to keep climbing atop.
In a gentle and easy way, Obedo expresses a burning and relentless feeling of survival and, beyond that, a need to thrive. In his ghostly and somber manner, he sings raw with his usual intensity, singing ‘I no go give up, I no go bow down…till I get to the promiseland’, and every part of this, is layered with a depth this artist is so capable of carrying.
It’s a defiant refusal, to bow down, or to bury one’s head to life’s whims. It’s a determination to stay stubborn in the face of life, bowing only at the right place; where the journey finally meets its rightful end, the only place to bow; the promise land.
In the same vein, he lets it be clear that his main goal, to live a life worth living, and make it to the promise land.
For Obedo, the journey and purpose are clear; elevation, dominance. He invites everyone to witness this, to catch a whiff of that determination, and to turn into a motion of your own.
It’s faith mixed with survival, confidence mixed with grit. It’s a song that gives no room for side talks, for doubts or questions, but instead, stays wrapped up in pushing forward.
