Kunmie drops an unexpected, scintillating remix of ‘Arike’
Nigerian Afrostar, Kunmie released his debut hit single ‘Arike’ on the 15th of February, with the sickly-sweet Valentine’s Day love still stuck in the air. From that day and months along the line, the song crawled its way to the top and into the hearts of many fans.
Covers by covers, duets by duets, videos by videos, it took a rock-hard position in our ears and playlists
And we thought we’d frankly heard its peak beauty, but Kunmie has switched up the game, unveiling that there’s more beauty to be heard and more to be welcomed with the new ‘Arike remix’.
‘Arike’ takes a new dimension, as the iconic female, Nigerian artiste; Simi and the British R&B dame; Mabel, take the floor, adding the feminine touch we’ve all been itching to hear.
Simi opens the song with her soft and ethereal voice, holding nothing back. Her voice pierces through, perforating every part of the music and settling you down as you listen. She adds in some lovely adlibs at the chorus, crowning a perfect melodic duet with Kunmie!
Mabel comes in on the next verse and puts the R in R&B, hitting her verse with ease and joining the other two for a blissful chorus.
The women handle this music just as it’s meant to be handled. Where Simi floats, soothes, and pierces, Mabel’s high vocals keep you in a tight vise grip.
This remix is beautiful, for a lack of better words and if there’s anything we can be sure of it’s that Kunmie is here to stay and here to bless us with more good music!
