‘NØYISZN’ is set to drop his latest lovely two pack EP; ‘This Intro is Yours’
Afrofusion artiste ‘NØYISZN’ returns to the music world with; "This.Intrø.Is.Yøurs," a 2-pack EP that pairs gratitude with grit.
His first track ‘Intro’ as it states, is an introduction in its fullest sense, giving you the feel that it was intentionally made for you in mind, to flow with. The song was birthed in a home studio at the heart of FESTAC at 3AM, when NØYISZN played 2Face’s classic “Ihe Ne Me” for producer Kun. The drum pattern lit a spark, and out of that moment came "INTRØ".
The first seconds of the track begins with plucked strings, heavily inspired by ancient Chinese music and style and it feels like a dream. These strings find their way into the melody that’s well intertwined.
On the track, he goes from an emotive soulful singing style, to a rap verse in between and back, ending with an enthralling high pitched chant.
The entire music is soft like a touch of clouds. As he sings and ranges into different pitches he closes the songs in a way that’s just as imaginary as he began, filling the music up with the sound of tweeting birds.
The second song ‘It’s yours’ is heavily reminiscent of his mother, her unwavering support and faith in him and how this faith has helped shape his grind and belief.
The track begins with his mother’s voice and is built around themes of grinding without seeing results, believing with proof and the paranioa of waiting, but still keeping the faith alive. It’s grounding display of exhaustion and faith. Despite the overwhelming feeling, he stays grounded in a confidence and assurance, that just as his mother has said, the world ‘is yours’!
The music itself carries a bit of the softness from the first track but is a lot more upbeat, as he delves into Afro R&B territory.
Where his vocals are calm, resting but piercing on “INTRO”, his voice comes out stronger, on “It’s yours”, merging well with the music.
‘It’s yours’ is a very catchy tune that will quickly find it’s way on your lips in no time. It’s the kind of song that brings hope, despite the troubles of waiting for things to click and go on right for you, the kind that makes you want to wave your hands to the sky and will have you playing it just one more time, and another!
