TinnyMafiaa and Obafemi team up for a new track; Mari Batiseh
Afolabi timileyin, professionally known as Tinnymafiaa, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. On his latest single “Mari Batiseh”, he features his fellow Afrobeats/Apala artiste; Obafemi.
“Mari Batiseh” which starts off with a solemn prayer, is a stylized way of saying the Yoruba statement “Ma ri ba ti se” which means “I’ll always find a way to do it”.
That line is the crux of the song’s story. It’s a desire and prayer that against all odds, they’d find a way to succeed. It is not just a fight for success but a fight against poverty.
TinnyMafiaaa and Obafemi have completely different vocal styles/tones and that difference gives them the perfect sync.
Where TinnyMafiaa drops his smooth, passionate killer verse and hook, Obafemi gives a gritty, rap manner, Apala music style that scratches your brain in the best way. Taking a high pitch in the chorus while TinnyMafiaa complements it with the lower tone.
